Katie Price loves My Carry Potty:
Katie Price has inspired a Poole businesswoman to develop a range of childrens pottys. Amanda Jenner, who invented My Carry Potty, spent half-an-hour talking business with Katie at the Birmingham Baby Show, which has encouraged her to explore launching a special limited edition.
"They were filming What Katie Did Next and she took a potty off me that night for her daughter Princess", revealed serial entrepreneur Amanda, 35, who opened her first business when she was 19. Katie said: "Its a shame it doesnt have any diamonds on it." Now I want to make one with Swarovski crystals and the woman who runs the Katie Price range is going to help me do this."
Tip 1: Keep it personal
Jennifer from Devon talks to us:
''I involved my daughter Lily when actually buying her potty and left it in the bathroom so she could make the connection between the two. Lily can be very possessive over her favourite toys and after speaking to friends with older children, it seems that the pattern is somewhat similar across the board. 'It's mine!' is a phrase often heard in our household! I introduced Lily's potty to her as her own, and no one else's to share, and she loved that idea down to the ground! I think it gave her the encouragement she needed to use it everywhere, making the whole potty training process a lot easier for both of us.''

Tara from Hampshire talks to us:
''Accidents will happen, so don't get cross or it could discourage the toddler from the idea of potty training altogether. With my eldest, Jimmy, I cleaned up 'the business' and then told him where it should go next time. I occasionally let him try the toilet out for himself to make the transition easier. One thing to remember is to not expect your child to be able to wipe his own bum too early. Jim needed help with this for some time.''

Seline from Bristol talks to us:
''When my son Tom was potty training, my husband and I found that giving plenty of praise every time he used his potty made him want to use it more. We made him a little rewards chart, and every time he went on his potty he got a gold star and used a packet of sweets as incentive to be 'fully potty trained' before anyone else did in his class at school - he's very competitive! Another thing I found with Tom is that he preferred going for a 'number one' sitting down at first, and developed the 'skill' of standing a little later, with his dad keeping a watchful eye!''

Izzy from London talks to us:
''My tip is to buy some elasticated trousers for your child. I remember vividly on the third day of potty training, George was wearing jeans and he needed to go in the middle of the shopping centre. It only took an extra 20 seconds to undo the buttons and zip, but turns out those seconds makes all the difference to a toddler who can't control their bowel movements yet... For me, elasticated trousers meant easy and quick access!''

Annette from Oxford talks to us:
''When potty training, it's easy to forget the basic must-dos. My eldest, Emily, seemed to find the transition from nappy to potty to toilet quite simple. However, she had difficulties remembering to flush the loo after use, as well as washing her hands. Perhaps incorporating flushing and washing into the 'steps' of potty training will help your toddler understand that cleanliness is just as crucial as going to the loo in the correct place.''
Customer Reviews:
"My daughter is just past the training stage with only the night times to crack, but I thought it would be a brilliant idea for summer outings."
"We hired a beach hut and it solved the whole 'Mum, I want to go to the toilet' problem, especially as the public toilets on the beach are never near to you and would involve locking up and trailing my other 2 small children with me."
"I also thought it would be a good safety net when out and about. Kids of around 3 years always want the loo at the most awkward times - fine if you're in a restaurant, but on a car journey it's not easy finding somewhere quickly, and getting them to go behind a hedge as a last resort can be messy! I only wish I could have got my hands on this earlier."

"The potty looks very solid and sturdy. Tyler instantly liked the look of it and has been carrying it around the house all morning. I tested the potty using water and there was no leaking! The rubber seal on the inside is perfect and keeps the contents inside. When closed, the potty is hard for Tyler to get into which is great (dont fancy him opening it at the shops!) But is easy for an adult to do. It has a carry handle making it easy to take around. We haven't taken it outside yet but will do on Wednesday so I can review its performance better then."
"Overall, great product - appealing to the child, solid and easily portable. Thankyou !!!"
Julz and Tyler aged 2.

Rebecca: "Today we are talking to a mum of three, who has invented a leak-proof potty that you can take on outings with you while potty training your toddler. Like so many of the best inventions, this one was born out of necessity. What happened?"
Amanda: "I was potty training my eldest son and I was out shopping and he decided he wanted to use his potty in the middle of a high street. Needs must - he went on the potty, then I had nowehere to dispose of the contents so I tipped it down the nearest drain and a man came up to me and shouted at me!" amanda my carry potty inventor and mum
Rebecca: "This is one of the problems isn't it. People try and potty train, they find they have to go out, and the whole thing comes to a halt."
Amanda: "That's right. When you potty train you can't just do it inside the home"
Rebecca: "Is it a little embarrassing using that in public?"
Amanda: "Not at all, because you'd be using a normal potty. It's better than carrying it around without a lid."
Rebecca: "Did you have to do anything yourself in terms of testing?"
Amanda: "Oh yes, we wanted to be 100%, we tested over 2000 potties ourselves!"
