Travel Documents - Dont Leave Home Without Them!

It is your responsibility to make sure that you have all the travel documents you need, such as passports, visas, and inoculation certificates remember babies need passports and visas just like adults.

Passports and Visas

Ask the embassy, high commission or consulate of the countries you are visiting/transiting in on your planned journey, which travel documents you will need. If you don't need a visa ask if you need to have a minimum period left to run on your passport, i.e if travelling to Cyprus passports must be valid for at least three months after returning home. Make sure you apply for them well in advance of your date of travel.

Copy your documents

This can save you days of stress and hassle in the unfortunate event of theft or loss.
When you've got all your travel documentation together take two photocopies, you will leave one at home with a friend or a relative and attach the other set of copies to your Child's Emergency Check List - Check Out Health & Safety - EMERGENCIES .

Or even better consider the idea of scanning copies of all your travel documentation, airline tickets, tour operators invoices, insurance certificates etc etc, onto the internet, so if you lose all of your possessions, you can still get all the information, booking reference numbers etc within minutes of finding an internet cafe. You can set up a Hotmail or Yahoo! account and simply send yourself a message with the scans attached.
